Original paintings inspired by a 1973 official Highway and parkway map I bought at an antique store in Arkansas. The delightful typography and design caught my eye. Instantly I wanted to recreate this piece of my states history.
Each jockey and lettering are hand painted in fresh colors. The “KY” typography is recreated to showcase the twin spires you see a Churchill Downs for horse racing.
